We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the hospitality and food service industry, showcasing exceptional leadership and team management skills. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment, maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service while supporting the Manager in daily activities.
Duties
Assist in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant or hospitality venue, ensuring efficiency and quality service.
Supervise staff, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills in food serving, and hospitality.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all dining areas.
Manage inventory levels, including food production supplies, to ensure adequate stock while minimising waste.
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure menu items are prepared to specification and presented attractively.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for excellent service recovery when necessary.
Assist in scheduling staff shifts and managing labour costs effectively.
Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and dining areas to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Requirements
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality environment is essential.
Strong culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Previous experience in barista duties or hotel operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service excellence.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
