Job Description

We are looking for an

Assistant Manager

to join our team at the UK's LARGEST Clip 'n Climb Centre in Crawley, West Sussex!

This role will assist the General Manager and another Assistant Manager with the daily operational running of the facility, managing and motivating the team, ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements whilst creating a consistent 'on brand' customer experience in all areas ensuring high standards in customer service, safety and general centre operations. The role also involves working with the General Manager on the identification and implementation of business development opportunities to achieve commercial targets for the business.

This is the ideal position for an individual with previous leisure experience in a senior role looking to progress and develop further alongside a rapidly growing business.

Main Responsibilities



Plan, organise and execute team and individual training sessions Work closely with our Instructors to carry out daily & monthly safety checks on climbing equipment Ensuring the safe running of the Clip 'n Climb arena in accordance with risk assessments and operating procedures Interacting and assisting with customers Working in conjunction with the Senior Management Team to review and improve policies, procedures and systems. Working with the Senior Management Team to develop on-going staff development and training Have full knowledge and understanding of the Main Reception operation, and support this area when required Have full knowledge and understanding of the South Ridge Cafe operation, and support this area when required Team leadership, providing ongoing management, coaching and development and monitoring team and individual performance Ensure successful implementation of, and adherence to, all Centre policies and procedures Complete all relevant checks to ensure standards are maintained across the Centre Take ownership of the holiday, rota and availability system to ensure KPIs are adhered to at all times Help to increase sales by finding new opportunities Fulfil key holder and security duties Handle cash and complete opening and closing procedures as required Deputise for the General Manager in their absence, acting as the liaison between the centre and Company Directors

Requirements



At least 2 years of demonstrable experience of team management in a busy, fast paced environment Calm approach when working under pressure Ability to lead and motivate a team Able to demonstrate initiative and work unsupervised Open friendly manner with an ability to interact with a diversity of people Accuracy and attention to detail Willingness to be flexible and take on other duties in the centre Strong knowledge and experience of operations Excellent customer service skills Proficient in MS office suite ie. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Excellent written and spoken (face to face and phone) communication skills Excellent numeracy skills Able to manage a varied workload, balancing scheduled tasks with requests for assistance from the team, which may have short deadlines Experience in executing health and safety procedures Able to manage complicated situations in a controlled manner Experience of working within a Climbing/Multi-Activity Leisure Centre (desirable) Confidently carry out duties at heights of up to 9.5 metres Must be fully flexible with working days to include weekends and bank holidays, due to the nature of the business Due to the nature of the role, an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check will be required and completed by the company as part of the pre-employment checks.
