The Burley Inn is a Pub with rooms in the heart of The New Forest.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry, specifically in food production and service. As an Assistant Manager, you will be mentored by experienced management staff, gaining valuable insights into operational procedures, team management, and customer service excellence. Ideal candidates will have a passion for Customer Service and a desire to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in overseeing daily operations within the Pub/Hotel setting to ensure smooth functioning. Support the management team in training and supervising staff, fostering a positive work environment. Learn and implement food safety standards and regulations to maintain high hygiene levels. Participate in food production processes, including cooking and preparation Engage with customers to enhance their dining experience and address any concerns promptly. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service delivery during peak hours. Contribute to inventory management by assisting in stock control and ordering supplies as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in a hospitality role such as bartending, culinary, or food production is advantageous. Strong understanding of food safety practices is essential. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff and customers alike. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills. Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business needs. A genuine passion for the hospitality industry with a willingness to learn and adapt.
