Job Description

The Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the Shop Manager with the smooth day to day running of their unit both front & back of house, delivering the highest standards of food quality and customer service through effective team management and development whilst being pro active in maintaining and improving turnover & profitability.


Responsible for running the shift in the absence of the Shop Manager.

Reports to: Shop Manager
Supported by: Team Leaders & Head Office support team

Key Duties

: ?To lead by example, inspire, motivate & manage the team to deliver the best possible customer experience. ? To seek and maximise sales revenue opportunities in shop and locally. ? Ensure all customers enjoy fast, friendly & efficient service. ? Food & coffee: Ensuring the customer is served appetising and tasty products made exactly to the company's recipe specification. ? Shop environment: Clean and welcoming shops with tidy and abundant displays. ? To always uphold the highest standards of food hygiene & safety. ? To ensure Mystery shopper guidelines & sequence of service are adhered to by all. ? To ensure health & safety standards are always followed. ? Staff recruitment, training & retention: Help to build a strong team ? Security: Ensuring that cash control / profit protection measures are in place ? Payroll: To ensure that, in the managers absence, the weekly rotas are collated, checked for accuracy with any significant issues clearly highlighted ? Controls: To assist the shop manager in controlling staff labour costs through effective scheduling. To assist the shop manager in control of cost of sales through daily stock management, careful ordering and monthly stock reconciliation.
