Working in close collaboration with the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager as part of a three person management team, the successful candidate will be at the forefront of our customer service experience and will be required to deliver this to the highest standard.



This role would suit someone who displays ambition and a growth mindset alongside high levels of empathy, resilience and organisational skills. There is a need for great passion to consistently deliver industry leading customer service as well as a genuine enthusiasm for running and the running community.



Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Assistant Manager are to:



lead and inspire the shop team; deliver excellent customer service through upholding the Run4It customer service process; taking ownership of the store's appearance, cleanliness and organisation, ensuring an inviting and commercial environment; deliver and maintain the +runlab service aligned with company standards, offering expert advice and support to customers; encorage future visits to shops and online by discussing with customers the benefits of creating a Run4It account and signing customers up to our newsletter; support customers of run4it.com through fulfilment and customer service; analyse information from Shopify to understand key sales trends, and use this to shape feedback, both to shop team members and the stock team; maintain a strong control of stock management processes within the shop and have the ability to rectify any inaccuracies; oversee the implementation of promotional campaigns and analyse their impact; work alongside other departments to provide supportive and inclusive working practices; recruit team members in accordance with company policy and employment law; organise the shop rota for the team, considering absences and holidays and the submission, on time and within budget, of weekly staffing hours to the payroll department; engage, build and maintain relationships with the local running community; and comply with Health and Safety legislation in accordance with the company procedure.

Experience:



Prior retail experience in a leadership capacity (essential) Running experience (desired)
Terms:

Competitive salary 28 days holiday per annum (including national holidays) 42.5 hours per week Contributory workplace pension scheme Staff discount: 40% discount on full-price goods for your own personal use and 20% discount on full-price goods being bought for or by immediate family members This job is maternity cover, and will cover the period from 1st October 2025 to 14th November 2026.
