Tavern on the Bay is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys leading a team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. An eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintaining standards are essential.

About the Role



As Food & Beverage Assistant Manager, you will oversee the smooth running of both the restaurant and bar. You'll take full responsibility during your shifts, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation are maintained at all times. You'll also play a key part in stock management, supplier coordination, team leadership, and supporting the venue's social media presence and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



Take full charge during shifts, ensuring smooth operation of restaurant and bar. Brief and motivate staff before each service. Maintain cleanliness and uphold the highest standards throughout. Manage weekly stock takes and record cash allowances accurately. Place beer orders and monitor supplier deliveries. Ensure beer lines are cleaned to schedule and to the correct standard. Confidently use POS systems and handle cash procedures. Support staff training and development. Assist with social media updates, marketing promotions, and brand presentation. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Requirements



Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within hospitality. Strong understanding of bar operations, stock control, and cellar management. Confident with POS systems and reporting. Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills. High attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent standards. Experience with social media management or marketing is highly desirable. Flexibility to work Monday, Tuesday, weekends, and key dates such as Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and the summer season. Passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing great guest experiences.
