We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. This role is vital in supporting store operations, leading staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, be highly organized, and demonstrate leadership in a retail environment. Multilingual abilities and prior assistant manager experience are highly valued to facilitate effective communication and team coordination across diverse customer and employee groups.
Duties
Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory management, and staff scheduling
Lead and supervise team members, providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations
Manage employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes
Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling responsibilities accurately
Maintain inventory control through purchasing, stock management, merchandising, and pricing strategies
Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly
Oversee POS systems, sales management, and retail math to optimize store profitability
Coordinate marketing efforts and promotional activities to increase store visibility and sales
Supervise shift management to ensure smooth operations during all business hours
Implement store policies related to safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards
Communicate effectively with staff and customers via phone etiquette and organizational skills
Experience
Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities
Strong background in sales management, merchandising, inventory control, and budgeting
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in training & development of staff
Proficiency in POS systems, retail math, cash handling, and store management procedures
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customers
Familiarity with marketing strategies, purchasing processes, and retail operations software
Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks is preferred
Ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
