We are now looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager with a genuine passion for food to support the day-to-day running of the business and help drive performance across our shop, school, and online operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the General Manager in the daily operations of the business
Lead by example on the shop floor, delivering outstanding customer service and sharing food and product knowledge with customers
Supervise, motivate, and support team members across retail and school activities
Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance management
Maintain high standards of presentation, organisation, and health & safety
Support stock control, deliveries, and inventory management
Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally
Support sales targets, promotions, and wider business objectives
Open and close the shop and act as duty manager when required
Work collaboratively with teams involved in the cookery school and online business
About You
Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or similar role (retail or hospitality preferred)
A strong interest in food, cooking, or food culture, with enthusiasm for sharing knowledge
A confident leader with excellent communication skills
Organised, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility
Passionate about customer service and independent retail
Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment
Flexible availability, including weekends
