Pub/restaurant manager wanted at the Wheelwrights Arms

Location: Monkton Combe (beautiful, picturesque village near Bath)

Salary: 30k to 40k per year salary plus tips, depending on experience and contracted hours.

Background: The Wheelwrights Arms is a charming old pub and guesthouse near Bath. It's now under new ownership, so you would become one of the initial members of the team. This is a huge challenge and not for everyone. But for the right person, this will be an exciting opportunity to start, build and grow something really special.

The vision for the pub is a cozy country pub that offers great food/drink and 5 star service.

The kitchen will make everything from scratch eg. home made ketchup/sauces, home made chips, our own sourdough bread and pizza dough for our wood fired pizza oven. We'd like to under promise and over deliver. So we don't want to go too 'fancy'. We want to do the simple, proper grub that people really want to eat.

The serving staff will be highly trained, smart and have a good level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the pub, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests. Manage staff schedules, training, and performance to maintain high service standards. Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and efficiency. Monitor inventory levels and manage ordering of supplies to ensure smooth operations. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food preparation and service
An ideal applicant will have experience in restaurant service. We welcome applications from waiting staff looking to step up to the next level of management as well as applications from seasoned pub managers.
