We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at the Prince of Peckham Pub . Located in Peckham 1 Clayton road SE15, Prince of Peckham is a vibrant establishment with an inviting and inclusive atmosphere, Excellent food and a large range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. As the AM, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the pub's high standards, enhancing customer experiences, and contributing to the overall success of the establishment.
Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of pub operations, including front-of-house, back-of-house, bar, and kitchen activities. Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, uphold cleanliness and safety standards, and monitor inventory levels.
Team Leadership:
Lead by example and inspire a cohesive and motivated team. Supervise and train staff members, set performance expectations, and foster a positive work environment that encourages growth and collaboration.
Customer Service:
Maintain an exceptional level of customer service by interacting with patrons, addressing feedback, and resolving any issues promptly. Strive to create a welcoming and memorable experience for all guests.
Financial Management:
Assist in budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures. Monitor sales, revenue, and expenses to achieve financial targets while maximizing profitability.
Events and Promotions:
Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute engaging events, promotions, and themed nights to attract and retain a diverse customer base.
Inventory Control:
Work closely with suppliers to manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation. Minimize wastage and optimize inventory turnover.
Quality Control:
Uphold the highest standards of food and beverage quality. Ensure that dishes and drinks are prepared and presented according to established guidelines.
Health and Safety:
Implement and enforce health, safety, and hygiene protocols to guarantee a safe environment for customers and staff. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
Relationship Building:
Cultivate positive relationships with regular customers, suppliers, and local stakeholders to enhance the pub's reputation and community engagement.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a pub or restaurant setting.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
Exceptional customer service orientation and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
Knowledge of food and beverage operations, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
A passion for the hospitality industry and a genuine interest in creating memorable guest experiences.
Working knowledge of Excel and Design My Night preferable but not manditory.
