We are now recruiting an

Assistant Manager or Manager - Accounts

to join our Wetherby team. This role is ideal for someone experienced in accounts preparation, client management, and financial reporting. If you enjoy building strong client relationships and want genuine career progression, we'd love to hear from you.

Role Overview



You will manage a portfolio of clients and deliver high-quality accounts and financial reporting services. You will also support bookkeeping, provide software guidance, and mentor junior team members. Experience in tax or audit is helpful but not essential.

Key Responsibilities



Manage a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services Prepare year-end financial statements and management accounts Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering proactive financial support Assist clients with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) Supervise, train, and mentor junior team members Review and improve clients' financial processes where needed

Requirements



ACA / ACCA qualified, or QBE Experience managing or mentoring team members in an accountancy practice Confident user of Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar software Strong understanding of accounting standards and best practice Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to prioritise, work independently, and adapt to changing deadlines Strong client service focus
