We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Manager/Post Office Manager to join our team in the retail sector. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the retail and service, with experience in supervising staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our forecourt, shop and post office. This role is crucial in supporting the management team while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service , while upholding the daily running of the shop/garage and post office.
Responsibilities
Assist in the daily operations of the post office and doing the weekly balancing and monthly balancing, ensuring stock levels are up to date, ensuring all activities run smooth
Assist in the daily operations of the forecourt and shop, ensuring all activities run smoothly
Supervise and train staff members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Maintain high standards in cleanliness and stock replenishment around the store, forecourt and post office
Oversee staff schedules, holidays and other absences.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and efficiency.
Collaborate with the management team to implement new policies and procedures as needed.
Assist in managing inventory, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels of shop goods, fuel and post office.
Support in the sales of age related products and operations as necessary, ensuring compliance with licencing laws.
Skills
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the retail industry, preferably in a shop, forecourt and post office setting
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Office 365 is advantageous but not essential.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is also advantage, but not essential to help oversee for our Deli.
