Assistant Marketing & Communications Manager



Contract- Permanent, Office Based (No hybrid working available)


Hours- 40 hours, Monday to Friday 8.30 till 5pm, occasional evening and weekend working


Location: Gogar Depot, 1 Myreton Drive, Edinburgh, EH12 9GF.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Marketing & Communications Manager to join the Marketing & Communications team.


Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will support in the planning and delivery of marketing, digital marketing, and communications initiatives across the business. Forming a key part of a busy team, this role is highly diverse and covers all aspects of the Marketing & Communications output. A background in marketing, communications, PR, or another similar role is essential.


Whilst this role is office based, there will be an expectation you will work at various locations across our tram network in line with business requirements. The role is permanent, full time, Monday to Friday, however, we are a 24 hour/7days business so you may be required to work out with your normal working hours to accommodate business needs, which may include evenings and weekends.


About the role




Assist in the planning and implementation of annual marketing, digital, and communications plans Assist in the writing and editing of press releases, news stories and other copywriting for internal & external use Content creation for both internal & external use Manage the digital marketing planning calendar, with both evergreen and reactive content Shared responsibility for scheduling & managing social media channels, including community management, leading on organic output, and assisting with paid content Represent the Marketing & Communications department when required Coordinate any market research that is required to identify market requirements for existing and future products. Ensure the Marketing & Communications Manager receives regular feedback on stakeholder expectations and experiences. Support the customer relations and revenue protection team as and when required. Event support by providing customer service and revenue protection support.

About you




The candidate will be required to demonstrate:


Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting for the web, for the press and for social media Strong working knowledge of marketing, digital marketing, and communications Strong working knowledge of the Meta Business Suite, as well as other social media platforms for business purposes Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro) Excellent company product knowledge. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to forge strong relationships with stakeholders An innovative and critical approach to problem solving.
