We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Merchandiser to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are presented effectively in retail environments, maximising sales opportunities and enhancing customer experience. This position requires a strong understanding of market trends, supply chain logistics, and category management to drive product visibility and performance.
Key Objective:
The objective of this role is to work within the Merchandising team to maximise commercial opportunities on your product areas, through the effective management of weekly stock and sales as well as assisting in planning future seasons/future buys.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Trading:
Prepare weekly trade review of previous weeks sales and present findings to wider team in weekly trading meeting.
Provide weekly trading actions to optimise department sales and margin.
Ad hoc reporting and Analysis when requiredo Liaise and be first point of contact with the warehouse around delivery issues.
Attend retail visits from which create and execute an action plan to improve ranges.
Assist the Merchandiser to manage intake flow into business to hit monthly forecasts, drive sales and minimise risks and communicate to warehouse for short term work flow planning and longer term budgeting
Ensure Stocks remain seasonally relevanto Ensure that all price adjustments are checked and on the system at the correct time
Interact with other internal teams to improve performance and drive best practiceso Ensure that all product landing in the warehouse has the correct Cost and Retail price and that the margin reflects correctly
Manage line cards in conjunction with the Merchandiser
Planning and Forecasting
Assist the Merchandiser and provide information to create Quarterly / Seasonal strategies for departments relating to all KPI's
Provide historical analysis to develop Quarterly / Seasonal Brand Forecasts for Product areas of responsibility to create the buy.
Create ratios for all buys.
Ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with the Buying Calendar
Ensure all order books are reconciled with the Suppliers
Checking and Uploading planners into the Range Plan to create items and purchase orders.o Creating Line cards
Team
Ensure you and the MA understand and are focused and working towards a shared goal.
Use personal development plans to drive your own progression
Be aware of the MA personal development plan and Objectives and support them to achieve success.
Seeking guidance on 'Best Practice' merchandising from the Senior team and implement
Develop relationships as appropriate with Design, Marketing, Ecom, DC, etc.
