We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person with experience of working in new build housing development, to deliver an excellent customer focused service in line with our development and acquisitions ambitions, supporting the Development Manager in the identification of opportunities for value-adding property development schemes.
About us
We are an award-winning not for profit housing association that currently owns nearly 9,000 homes across County Durham. We offer more than just a home. We help improve the lives of the people living in our homes and in our places. We work hard to make sure those homes are high quality, sustainable and adaptable, while meeting tenants' current and future aspirations. We offer support that help people into work and training and increase their financial confidence and stability.
Our Plan A sets out our strategy for a realistic path to success. It's flexible. It can cope with the things we do not yet know. Importantly it's cohesive, ensuring we are working together with our teams, partners, tenants and residents to maximise the impact we can make by improving lives through the provision of sustainable homes and places.
About the role
Assisting the Development Manager and in collaboration with our partners, you will support the delivery of a variety of new build schemes covering both the development of new homes for rent, plus the acquisition of land and property including the processing of budgets.
You will assist in the management of projects from feasibility stage, through the planning process up to completion of homes on site including procurement of services and ensuring that both consultants and contractors undertake work in accordance with the appropriate design brief requirements.
You will assist the Development Manager to drive forward exciting and sustainable new homes development, delivering an outstanding customer experience from project inception to after-sales care.
About you
You will be technically competent and be able to interpret drawings and designs, understand the new build housing construction process, and have a comprehensive knowledge of the NHF standards and quality in development.
Experienced in the delivery of new build housing schemes and the assessment of site build quality in relation to defective materials and workmanship, you will hold a relevant Level 4-5 qualification in Building Studies, Construction Management or Surveying.
You must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.
Benefits
In return, we offer a comprehensive package of rewards and opportunities designed to recognise your contribution and support your ongoing development.
An engaging office environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and growth.
A competitive salary fairly evaluated under a nationally recognised job evaluation scheme.
Additional car allowance payment of 1,850 per annum.
