Assistant Night Transport & Warehouse Manager

, who will also take responsibility for overseeing the night transport & warehouse operations at our busy London site.

This is a key leadership role combining transport coordination with night warehouse management. It's ideal for someone with experience in transport supervision who is also confident managing people, equipment, and stock flow in a warehouse setting.

You'll work alongside a well-established team. The

daytime warehouse is overseen by the Transport Manager

, and

production is managed separately

by our Production Manager, with production activities taking place from the afternoon through to the evening. Your focus will be on supporting and supervising the warehouse overnight - not on production.

We are specifically looking for someone who holds a

7.5T licence

and is willing to drive

only in emergencies

. We have a dedicated cover driver, so this would only be required in rare and exceptional circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

:

Transport & Fleet Oversight

:

Oversee night transport operations and act as the first point of contact for operational issues Support drivers and customer service teams with day-to-day decisions Monitor and improve fleet performance Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all documentation is compliant Respond to customer enquiries and provide regular updates on deliveries Review and optimise routes to maximise efficiency and service quality Produce weekly KPIs and operational updates for senior management Ensure legal compliance with driver hours, WTD, tachograph use, and vehicle regulations Hold a 7.5T licence and be available to drive only in emergency situations

Night Warehouse Supervision

:

Supervise the night warehouse team and ensure all staff are working safely and effectively Oversee the goods-in process and ensure stock is checked and stored correctly Monitor the condition and cleanliness of the warehouse and report or escalate issues as needed Liaise with our handyman and maintenance support to keep warehouse equipment in working order Ensure pre-loading and order preparation is completed accurately and on time Act as a visible point of leadership, supporting and guiding the team during night operations Maintain accurate records and ensure a smooth handover to the day team

What We're Looking For

:

Proven experience in transport operations and/or warehouse supervision Strong understanding of compliance, vehicle regulations, and health & safety standards Experience using transport planning systems (Route4Me or similar) Excellent organisational and communication skills Confident managing competing priorities, leading teams, and solving problems in real time

7.5T driving licence is essential

CPC qualification preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
