We are currently looking for an Assistant Buyer and Merchandiser to join the team at our Lake District head office.
Job description:
As the Assistant PAC Merchandiser and Buyer at Wheelbase Lakeland Limited you will be part of the team responsible for range planning and monitoring performance of Parts, Accessories and Clothing (PAC) from our industry leading cycling brands. This role is crucial in selecting, managing and optimising our PAC product range.
Your role is to ensure that these products appear in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantities. You'll play a key role in maximising profits by supporting the team with the admin functions of setting prices, reviewing performance and assisting with promotions and markdowns.
Key responsibilities:
Assist with product selection, replenishment and range planning.
Maintain a comprehensive portfolio of range plan data. Including brand margins and forward order contracts.
Communicate product range plans to our Retail, Stock and eCommerce teams.
Analyse and report weekly sales, stock levels and product performance to assist with buying decisions, to maximise sales and profitability.
Analyse every aspect of bestsellers, ensuring that they reach their full potential, along with monitoring slow sellers and agreeing markdowns to ensure sell thru.
Create seasonal markdowns at pre planned dates.
Create purchase orders and work with suppliers to manage the intake of stock agreeing timescales and delivery dates.
Manage back orders and cancellation if necessary.
Work with the Finance Director to forecast profits, sales and plan budgets to control stock levels.
Support promotional campaigns by working with marketing and e-commerce teams.
Maintain awareness of competitors' performance and cycle market trends. Analysing market trends and behaviours to support merchandising strategies.
What we are looking for:
Previous experience in merchandising and/or retail/business management is advantageous, but not vital
Having knowledge and passion for the cycle industry will be a huge advantage.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
Be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, with sound decision-making and the ability to plan and prioritise.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work well in a team. Build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people.
Salary
A competitive salary from 28,000 depending on experience.
Working hours:
9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. However, flexible/longer working hours may be required from time to time.
The role is office based in our Lake District HQ with hybrid working available on request. Some of your time will be spent visiting stores, suppliers and attending trade fairs.
