Job Description

A new and exciting development role has arisen to join the team as an Assistant Practitioner, working as part of the team on Cadog Ward, in Glangwili General Hospital.



Cadog ward is 20 bedded general medical ward specialising in Frailty. The ward consists of 14 short stay frailty beds and 6 bedded frailty assessment unit.



The successful candidates will need to have a keen interest in elderly care, frailty and dementia and be committed to delivering a high standard of patient care. If appointed, you can look forward to working in a professional environment with a team that is passionate about delivering excellent care to our patients.



Level 4 vocational qualification in a relevant health care associated subject or Certificate in Health Care Support Worker Education is required for this post.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.



This is a full-time post however part time will be considered.

Four main hospitals:

Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest



Five community hospitals:

Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire



Two integrated care centres:

Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings



47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers



Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
