Join Our Team as an Assistant Practitioner - Talking Therapies Counselling Service

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Assistant Practitioner to join our Talking Therapies Counselling Service. In this vital role, you will work directly with clients on our waiting list--providing short-term, meaningful contact that supports their well-being while they await treatment.
As an Assistant Practitioner, you will:
Deliver proactive, short-term support to clients via telephone, virtual sessions, and face-to-face meetings.
Conduct risk assessments and collaboratively create safety plans.
Help clients navigate and access the most appropriate community-based services to meet their needs.
Support the service in gaining valuable insights into our client cohort to improve outcomes and service development.

Key Responsibilities
Provide therapeutic 1:1 interventions and facilitate group activities.
Liaise with external agencies to promote holistic, partnership-based care.
Ensure accurate and meaningful documentation of service users' needs.
Identify and respond to physical and mental health needs.
Formulate and evaluate short-term support plans.
Participate in clinical supervision and contribute to team development.
Signpost and refer clients to appropriate local services across health, safeguarding, and social care systems.
