Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious Assistant Practitioner to join our Special Care Baby Unit with Neonatal experience in Glangwili General Hospital.



Neonatal services in Hywel Dda University Health Board have changed. The unit in Carmarthen provides 1 stabilisation cot, 4 high dependency cots and 8 special care cots. Along side SCBU there is a 4 cot transitional care unit that SCBU staff support alongside the midwifery team. Perinatal working is paramount within this role. The service also has a neonatal outreach service.



A Band 4 vacancy has arisen in the Unit at Glangwili Hospital. The unit currently provides short term intensive care, high dependency care and special care. We are committed to the provision of high quality evidence based practice to meet the needs of parents and babies incorporating family centred care. We are committed to staff development and service improvement.



We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and self motivated Assistant Practitioner with Neonatal experience to join our friendly experienced team. You will have excellent clinical and communication skills.



The successful candidate will be able to work well independently and within the team. They will also enjoy teaching and supporting junior staff as well as pre registration student nurses. This post involves a day/night rotation.



You will be undertaking a range of skills relevant to the post working in Special Care Baby Unit such as, monitoring and recording vital signs, blood sampling, m aintain accurate patient records, both written and electronic. . Handover the care of patients, when appropriate , under the direct supervision of a qualified member of the multi-disciplinary team maintaining confidentiality at all times . You will need to have regard to information governance, GDPR, confidentiality and safekeeping. You will need an understanding of the legislation related to Sa feguarding.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers

Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
