WHY JOIN THE TEAM?




Panorama is the UK's longest-running current affairs TV show. We cover a wide range of topics - from in-depth investigations to everyday issues in the UK, and major international stories to breaking news. In this role, you'll work closely with the Unit Manager and the Production Management team to support the journalists and producers who create our programmes.





Working with experienced production management professionals, you'll learn best practice and look for ways to continually improve and set the standard for future generations of BBC programme makers in creating quality content for TV, audio, online and digital platforms.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT




As a Production Manager apprentice with

, this is a brilliant opportunity to build on your previous industry experience or utilise transferable managerial skills to media environments - you may:


Assist with shoots, studio setups, crew bookings, and call sheets Support budget management, staff training coordination, and payroll Work on location, in studios, galleries, and across our BBC offices Learn best practices in production management, health & safety, and compliance

You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on the job at the BBC and off the job with our chosen education provider. The academic study involves attending instructor-led workshops; tutorial sessions; presentations and group work. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be asked to gather a portfolio of evidence and work on an end point assessment that demonstrates your learning, while working towards a Level 6 apprenticeship qualification.





This apprenticeship will give you a thorough knowledge and understanding of Production Management and the media Industry, which you can then utilise during your time at the BBC and afterwards in the wider industry.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA




To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:


Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026 Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation For candidates under the age of 19 years at the start of the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment
