The Opportunity




You'll be responsible for driving performance across day-to-day production and logistics, ensuring site KPIs are met and our operations continue to deliver excellence. With millions of tonnes of material moving through our sites each year, this is a role where

no two days are the same,

and your leadership will have a direct impact on how we meet demand safely, sustainably, and effectively.


As

Assistant Production Manager

, you'll also take on statutory responsibilities under the

Quarry Regulations (1999)

, ensuring compliance, quality, and operational excellence. When the Production Manager is unavailable, you'll step up as the key point of contact for the site, making decisions that keep everything on track.

What You'll Be Doing



Supporting and deputising for the Production Manager, overseeing daily quarry and distribution operations. Leading by example, promoting a

strong health, safety, and environmental culture

across all teams. Managing people and performance, ensuring effective utilisation of staff, equipment, and resources. Coordinating with commercial and logistics teams to deliver material on time and to the highest standard. Driving continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency, product quality, and sustainability. Managing financial performance, budgets, and operational KPIs. Supporting recruitment, training, and staff development to build a motivated, skilled, and safety-conscious workforce. Ensuring all operations comply with environmental permits, geotechnical assessments, and quarry design plans.

What You'll Bring



Proven experience in a quarrying, production, or heavy industry environment. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Excellent problem-solving ability with an analytical, proactive mindset. Solid understanding of

Health & Safety, Quarry Regulations, and Environmental compliance

. A good grasp of budgets, KPIs, and operational planning. Confidence working in a fast-paced environment and making sound decisions under pressure. Flexibility to work day and afternoon shifts, including weekend cover as part of the management rota.
