Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Assistant Production Manager to support day-to-day operations in our production facility. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Production and Planning Managers to ensure manufacturing processes run efficiently, safely and on schedule, while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities

Assist the Production Manager in planning and coordinating production schedules and workflow. Supervise production staff and provide training, coaching and support to ensure performance standards are met. Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards, timelines and cost targets are achieved. Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products: coordinate with procurement and logistic teams. Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations. Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate records of production volumes, materials used, and employee performance. Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance and engineering teams to optimize production efficiency. Support the implementation of continuous improvements and lean manufacturing practices.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration or related field ( preferred ) 2+ years experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a supervisory or coordinator role. Strong understanding of production processes, workflow optimization and quality control standards. Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: experience with ERP or MRP systems is a plus. Detail-oriented with strong problem solving abilities. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or similar methodologies is advantageous.
