We are currently recruiting an Associate Professor in Business Analytics with experience of teaching one or more of the major areas of business analytics (particularly prescriptive modelling with optimisation techniques or predictive modelling with machine learning models) to deliver on undergraduate and postgraduate modules across our range of provisions, on-campus, online and TNE.

The Role:

As Associate Professor in Business Analytics, you will have the opportunity to play a significant role in supporting and developing the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Data/Business Analytics. As part of the Management Subject Group, this will see you joining an ambitious, growing team consisting of academics on Enterprise, Learning and Teaching, Professional Practice, and Research pathways, who make significant contributions across all strands of endeavour.

The post will also provide you with the remit to influence the direction of our diverse and vibrant curriculum going forward and become involved in both module and programme leadership, providing contribution to our business and management portfolio. You will also have the opportunity to develop your academic leadership through line management and mentoring.

Similarly, you will be in an excellent position to use your knowledge and experience to take responsibility for developing, designing and delivering teaching and student-centred learning underpinned by academic scholarship and professional practice, within your assigned areas of responsibility.

The role will also provide you with the time to conduct individual and collaborative research projects, contributing to the research profile of the School. We envisage you will be aligned to one of our research centres or research groups, such as Napier Applied Business Research for Society (NABRS).

What we will need from you:

In addition to the role profile, the following criteria are essential:

  • A doctoral level qualification in an appropriate discipline
  • Evidence of a developing academic and research profile
  • Demonstrable record of academic leadership through research outputs in Data Analytics and experience of generating research bids.
  • Sufficient breadth and depth of experience to support and develop high quality teaching/learning and research projects
  • Demonstrable evidence of teaching specialisation/experience aligned to business and management research methods.
  • Commitment to supporting international and online delivery
Benefits we offer:

Salary: \xc2\xa356,021 - \xc2\xa366,857 p/a (depending on experience) + Pension (Employer contribution of 23% - Scottish Teachers Superannuation Scheme)

46 days (36 days flexible + 10 fixed) paid annual leave per annum
