Vacancies have arisen for assistant project managers within the balance of site (BoS) team. The role involves the safe delivery of multi-disciplinary tasks and projects, and will support the project manager in developing and implementing BoS projects, including organizing and managing construction site areas and activities for infrastructure projects.

This role is crucial and highly rewarding, playing a key part in enabling BoS to deliver projects safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be the central point of contact for ensuring the safe and effective implementation of projects. They will work closely with engineering disciplines, contractors, project supervisors, works control, and specialist advisors to ensure the safe delivery of projects.
Main Responsibilities:
Support project management strategies, optimising plans to adapt to changes when necessary
Coordinate and support construction sites to ensure compliance with CDM requirements, ensuring construction design integration and coordination for a safe and effective working environment
Assist in producing and maintaining the programme baseline
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate safe project delivery
Assist in the monitoring and delivery of commercial contracts
Monitor performance of internal teams and contractors against safety, costs, programme, and quality; identify deviations, and recommend remedial actions
Produce and coordinate project documentation, including statements of requirements, safety documentation, Dounreay modification report (DMRs), works control documents, and project reports
Prepare and support project handover documentation
Efficiently manage projects within safety case boundaries
Review and report on problems and incidents, establish causes, and identify, recommend, and implement solutions
Liaise with works control centre to ensure timely resource supply in both the short and long term
Participate in site emergency exercises as required
Perform management appointments responsibilities relevant to the role
Aptitudes and Experience:
HND in Engineering or with equivalent qualification and experience
Demonstrable experience in nuclear or industrial settings
Strong understanding of industrial and nuclear safety management requirements
Relevant knowledge and experience of commercial contracts
Ability to implement CDM compliant working and management arrangements
Understanding of schedule, cost, and commercial elements
Strong site and staff management skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Effective communication skills
Demonstrable organizational and planning skills
