Are you a Psychology graduate or soon-to-be graduate seeking a progressive opportunity in a role that would make a difference in mental health?



The Older Adult Community Mental Health Team based in Banbury, Oxfordshire is looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join their busy and long established Memory Clinic.



The Memory clinic is a diagnostic service and you will be involved in the assessment of patients and completing neuropsychological testing as well as the support of the patient and family members throughout the process.



There will be opportunities for you to be involved in wider psychological interventions in the team and to spend some time in the Brain Health Centre in The Warneford Hospital and see some of the research the Trust is involved in.



You will need to have a keen interest in working with older adults and specifically working with dementia and cognitive impairment. Previous experience working in this area would be advantageous but not essential.



The CMHT in North & West Oxford is a friendly and supportive place to work with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and support workers as well as a dedicated administrative team.



You will play a major role in the day to day functioning of the memory clinic, for which u will need to have a high level of organisation and communication skills and be a positive team player.



You will need to have a keen understanding of mental health and be able to undertake supervised assessments of patients attending the memory clinic, supporting medical staff interviewing and family members or carers.



After training you will offer neuropsychological tests, rating scales as appropriate and psychometric screening.



You will assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the treatment and management of a client's problems under the supervision of a qualified professional.



To work with other staff to assess patients and to work with carers/families to support the diagnosis of dementia.



To collate data, analyse and produce reports and outcome summaries as required.
