Job Description

We have a new Assistant Psychologist role within our developing Living Well community adult mental health services (12-month fixed term contract). This role will support and enhance the psychologically-informed care of people accessing the Community and Living Well Teams. This is an opportunity to contribute to a developing service in enhancing psychological understanding and care and to develop clinical, audit and research skills under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.



Living Well is a new way of working across the whole system to provide person-centred, holistic, and community-based care. Through our partnerships with voluntary and statutory organisations, we are creating new teams, networks, and community support. We need an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Assistant Psychologist to join a developing Living Well Psychology team which is based in Chesterfield but supports the service which works across the whole of Derbyshire . Some travel and/or remote working may be needed as part of the role.



You will support and enhance the psychological care of people within the Community and Living Well Teams by contributing to further developments of group and individual resources, supporting the development and evaluation of psychological groups and pathways across Living Well.



You may be involved in the delivery of therapeutic group and individual programmes across community services in line with the transformation of community care, and in partnership with colleagues from within Derbyshire Healthcare or other partner organisations. You will support the multidisciplinary teams to provide high quality psychologically informed care. With support, you will enhance other colleagues' knowledge and awareness of psychological functioning, trauma and treatments.



The role also includes audits, collection of statistics, development of evaluation projects and project work, as discussed and agreed with your clinical supervisor and line manager.



You will work, under regular clinical supervision, within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedures.

The role will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients with the Living Well and Community Mental Health Teams across the whole of Derbyshire. To work as a member of the developing Living Well Psychology Team, supporting the development and evaluation of Living Well psychologically informed interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed by a qualified clinical psychologist and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. To co-deliver therapeutic group programmes across community services in line with transformation of community care. With support, to enhance other colleagues' knowledge and awareness of psychological functioning, trauma and treatments. To assist in clinically related administration, audits, collection of statistics, development of audit, evaluation and/or research projects, resource and pathways development, teaching and project work.
