Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our Children's Neurodevelopmental service. The postholder will be primarily based in Wrexham, and will have the opportunity to work across the areas of Wrexham and Flintshire.



The ND service provides assessment and diagnosis for autism and ADHD for children and young people age 5-18. Under the supervision of a clinical psychologist, you will work with the MDT to support the ND assessment pathway, including undertaking clinical interviews, psychometric assessment and formulation. There will be opportunities to develop your skills in audit, clinical research and support various service development projects, whilst continuing your professional development.



We are a supportive multi-disciplinary team and there are also opportunities to connect with psychologists across children's services in the East. We have excellent links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme.



To assist in the provision of a psychological service to clients within the specialty under the direction of the supervising clinical psychologist.



To be responsible for the planning and prioritisation of own workload and activities following the direction and guidelines given by the supervising clinical psychologist.



To undertake assessments of clients and implement programmes of care or intervention following guidance from the supervising clinical psychologist.



To undertake research activities as required and directed by the supervising clinical psychologist.



To work within guidelines given by the supervising clinical psychologist.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
