About Us:

We are a well-established construction firm delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the UK. Due to ongoing growth, we are seeking a committed and capable Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team and contribute to the successful delivery of upcoming developments.

Role Overview:

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in managing the costs of construction projects from inception through to final account. You will work closely with senior surveyors, project managers, and site teams to ensure commercial targets are achieved and contractual obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation

Support procurement activities including obtaining quotes and placing orders

Measure quantities and assist with cost planning and valuation exercises

Monitor project progress and prepare interim valuations

Assist with preparation and agreement of final accounts

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and resolve queries

Support in the preparation of monthly cost reports and forecasts

Ensure that contractual and commercial risks are identified and managed

Assist in negotiating variations and resolving any commercial issues

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in the UK construction sector (contractor or consultancy)



Full right to work in the UK - no visa sponsorship available



On-site and office-based role - remote/hybrid working is not available

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness

Proficient in MS Excel and other standard QS software tools

Experience using Bluebeam Revu is highly desirable

Sound knowledge of construction contracts (JCT/NEC)

Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic

A team player with a willingness to learn and grow

Qualifications:

Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or working towards it)

Membership of or working towards RICS/CIOB accreditation is an advantage
