Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting related to construction projects. Duties



Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through to completion. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials used against estimates. Manage tendering processes, including evaluating bids and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to each project. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented. Analyse variations and change orders, providing detailed reports on their financial impact. Assist in the procurement process by preparing bills of quantities and tender documentation. Ensure compliance with relevant legal, safety, and environmental standards throughout all financial activities.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial management of construction projects. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent programmes. Good understanding of contractual procedures and legal aspects related to construction finance. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members. Relevant qualifications such as RICS accreditation or equivalent recognised professional qualification are preferred but not essential.
