As part of our exciting expansion in the North Home Counties region, we're looking for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you'll support budget control for a mix of triple tenure sites, including Private, Affordable, and Build to Rent residential schemes across the North Home Counties.

What you will do




Assist in general project coordination and administration. Support the preparation and negotiation of initial site budgets. Help with subcontract procurement, including obtaining risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation from subcontractors. Undertake site visits and inspections, coordinating with site management and subcontractors. Assist in carrying out subcontract payments, variation claims, and final account settlements. Liaise with other departments and external consultants regarding cost issues. Support in issuing interim payment applications to RSL Partners. Participate in sub-contract pre-order meetings and regular project review meetings. Prepare monthly cost reports to ensure cost control throughout the development programme. Provide continuous financial advice to the Site Management team.

What we are looking for




Experience:

Some experience in quantity surveying within the residential housebuilding sector is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications:

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent communication, and attention to detail.

Knowledge:

Basic familiarity with construction contracts, current building regulations, and industry standards.

Proactivity:

Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and support multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in COINS is a plus, and expertise in MS Word and Excel is essential.
