Job Description

Astwoods Construction Group are recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful commercial delivery of interior fit out, passive fire and carpentry projects through initiation to completion, from small orders to large scale programmes for our customers in healthcare, commercial, social housing and education. Supported by our Commercial and Business Support teams this role provides an excellent opportunity for career development and progression for the right candidate. We also welcome applications from more experienced candidates looking for a part time role.

Responsibilities:

Manage and control cost on projects Understand and advise on contractual and technical terms Submit monthly applications for payment Work with site teams to manage cost and maximise value Set labour targets Order materials, plant and subcontract works Identify and implement continuous improvement Maintain excellent client relationships Develop trainees
Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years as a Trainee or Assistant QS in Construction or Facilities Management Team player and good sense of humour Customer focussed A background in technical and compliance aspects of construction A qualification in Construction or FM is advantageous but not essential Able to work at our Redditch office and on sites in the West Midlands
