About the Role
As Assistant Manager, you will support the Retail Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the shop. You will help lead a dedicated team of volunteers to deliver excellent customer service and contribute to achieving sales targets and beyond!
Key Responsibilities
Support the Retail Manager with daily operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, and stock management
Provide a warm, welcoming environment for customers to represent our values
Assist in driving sales and meeting (or surpassing) weekly and monthly targets
Maintain high standards of merchandising, shop presentation, and stock rotation
Help recruit, train, and motivate your team
Ensure all activities comply with charity policies, health and safety regulations, and retail standards
Step up to manage the shop to deputise for the Manager
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Proactive - able to take initiative and solve problems independently
Approachable - friendly, supportive, and great with people
Flexible - comfortable adapting to the needs of a busy retail environment
Reliable, organised, and committed to delivering excellent customer service
Previous retail or charity shop experience is desirable, but training will be provided
