Job Description

RSPCA Sheffield Rehoming Centre has an exciting opportunity for you to help raise vital funds and awareness to all Customers in our Retail Charity Shops in the City of Sheffield. All of our charity shops raise vital funds to support the welfare, rehabilitation, and care required to enable us to rehome animals.

:



Assisting the effective management of the day to day running of the shop, staff and volunteers. To raise money to support the RSPCA Sheffield Animal Shelter by providing a high-quality retail service, meeting performance and monetary targets.

Key Objectives:



To assist the Retail Sales Lead in achieving the shop makes a significant profit to raise vital funds to support the welfare, rehabilitation and care of animals

To create a warm and welcoming environment for customers, volunteers and colleagues

To make sure To have a 'can-do' attitude with a confident approach to problem solving and making decisions

To assist in leading and managing the team to deliver excellent customer service

To cascade information as required

To provide a high quality retail experience to all our customers and our community and to build and maintain relationships

To ensure that all appropriate standards of security and health and safety are met and adhered to and report any issues to the Retail Sales Lead

To be a driving force in volunteer recruitment and training to ensure target volunteer hours are met

Leadership:



To promote the RSPCA Sheffield Animal Shelter, the shop, online sales in the local community

To be an excellent role model and help create a positive environment so that all shop team members feel motivated and valued

To promote excellent customer service and best practice to all members of the shop team

To attend and actively participate in RSPCA Sheffield staff meetings, events and training

To carry out daily admin and financial procedures (till operating, cash handing and banking) correctly in line with RSPCA Sheffield's policies and procedures

To report any health and safety, maintenance, safeguarding and wellbeing concerns to the Retails Sales Lead

Shop Trading:



To continually assist and support the shop's performance by meeting or exceeding income targets. This includes the sale of donated stock, Gift Aid, and cash donations

To continually support in sourcing stock and cash donations and create community connections

To support in actively recruiting volunteers and work with local organisations i.e. job centres and probation

To ensure that there is a consistent and adequate floor of stock that is rotated fortnightly and priced in accordance with RSPCA Sheffield pricing policy

To keep the shop safe, clean and fully merchandised with attractive window and stock displays reflecting trends and themes

To move and sort large quantities of stock, which may regularly include lifting and carrying of donations, sometimes in confined or limited space

Other tasks:



To cover online sales and other shops when required

Inform the appropriate manager of any concerns

Any other reasonable tasks your manager asks you to help with

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
