The Assistant Retail Pricing Manager will support the development and execution of the company's retail pricing strategy for motor insurance products. The role involves managing pricing projects, leading a small team, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure pricing models are competitive, profitable, and in line with regulatory standards. This position serves as a bridge between senior leadership and analysts, playing a key role in translating strategic goals into actionable pricing initiatives.

What you'll be responsible for:





Pricing Strategy Execution:

Assist in implementing the retail pricing strategy in line with the company's growth and profitability goals. Provide input into strategic decisions by analysing market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behaviour.
Analysis and Reporting:Prepare detailed and accurate analysis of pricing changes and their impact on portfolio performance. Communicate insights and recommendations to senior managers through presentations and detailed reports.
Performance Monitoring:Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented pricing strategies, recommending adjustments to improve outcomes.

Innovation and Development:Contribute to the development and deployment of new pricing techniques, including machine learning and automation tools. Identify opportunities to improve existing models, processes, and systems.
Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor pricing analysts, fostering their professional growth. Oversee the production of high-quality pricing models and reports, ensuring adherence to timelines and accuracy.
Stakeholder Collaboration:Work closely with the Retail Pricing Manager to align on strategic goals and priorities. Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and claims teams to gather insights and refine pricing recommendations. Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding pricing updates, methodologies, and queries.
Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:Ensure pricing activities comply with all applicable regulations and internal policies. Support audits and prepare documentation for regulatory reporting as needed.


What you'll need:





Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with a solid grasp of statistical modelling and actuarial methods. Proficiency in pricing software and programming tools such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, or similar platforms. Proficiency in Radar or Emblem advantageous Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex concepts to varied audiences. Strong project management and organisational abilities, with a capacity to handle multiple priorities effectively. Team leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide and develop analysts. Problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
