About the Role:
We're on the lookout for a passionate Assistant Store Manager to support the day-to-day running of our flagship Evesham store. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves people, creativity, and community, and enjoys leading by example on the shop floor.
Working closely with the Store Manager, you'll help create a warm, welcoming space that customers love returning to. You'll support daily operations across the shop, cafe, and workshops/events, help motivate and develop the team, and play a key role in driving sales and great customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading, supporting, and motivating a retail & creative team.
Harnessing community within our store.
Handling customer queries, feedback, and customer needs with care.
Building relationships with regular customers, workshop hosts, and local makers.
Supporting the management of store and cafe operations, ensuring smooth service.
Maintaining a clean, inviting, beautifully presented space.
Collaborating on visual merchandising, product displays, and seasonal themes - in line with company campaigns set by Marketing.
Supporting cafe staff when needed.
Supporting on stock administration for cafe, where needed.
Working with the team to plan and coordinate workshops, craft clubs, and in-store shopping events.
Working with local artists, teachers, and small businesses.
Creating an uplifting, inclusive & approachable environment for all skill levels.
Supporting on store stock management (both CC stock & third-party brands).
Monitoring waste, inventory, and cafe supplies.
Monitoring & managing Health & Safety, and food hygiene standards in cafe.
Supporting the Store Manager with budgeting, cash handling, reporting, and sales targets.
Tracking workshop bookings, event revenues & margins.
Person Specification:
Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years previous experience in an assistant/ supervisory managerial retail role is required.
Experience of managing a cafe would be preferred but not required.
Food hygiene and safety training would be advantageous, but also not required.
Skills & Abilities:

Comfortable with scheduling, ordering, and POS systems.
Interested in craft or expressing creativity (ideal but not essential).
Able to remain calm and efficient under pressure in a busy retail and cafe setting.
Committed to delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining high operational standards.
Able to drive sales and think creatively about how we shape events and drive footfall to store.
