The

St Vincent de Paul Society (England & Wales)

is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic

Assistant Shop Manager

to support the day-to-day running of our charity shop on a part time basis. You'll work closely with the Shop Manager to maximise sales, manage volunteers, and ensure our shop is a welcoming and vibrant place for customers and donors alike.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Shop Manager in achieving sales targets and income generation through donations, Gift Aid, recycling, and online selling. Help maintain high standards of merchandising and stock rotation to ensure a fresh and appealing shop floor. Assist in recruiting, training, and leading a team of volunteers. Deliver outstanding customer service and foster a "sales through service" culture. Take responsibility for the shop in the manager's absence, including key holding and cash handling. Contribute to the shop's social media presence and community engagement. Ensure compliance with health & safety, SVP policies, and retail procedures.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

Retail experience with a proven track record of meeting targets. Strong communication and organisational skills. Good level of English, Maths, and IT proficiency. Passion for charity retail and empathy with SVP's values.

Desirable:

Experience in charity retail and working with volunteers. Knowledge of EPOS systems and visual merchandising. Understanding of the SVP and its mission.
