is looking for a dedicated

Assistant Shop Manager

to support the running of our York shop.

We are looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to work Sundays 10:30am-4:30pm and one weekday to cover the Shop Manager's day off.

As Assistant Shop Manager, you'll play a key role in helping to maximise sales, manage volunteers, and ensure our shop is welcoming, well-stocked, and run to the highest standards. You'll take charge on Sundays and one weekday, providing cover for the Shop Manager and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

What You'll Do:

Support the Shop Manager in achieving sales targets and growing income through donations, Gift Aid, and online selling. Lead the shop team when the Shop Manager is absent, ensuring excellent customer service and a well-presented shop. Help recruit, train, and motivate volunteers. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with SVP policies. Contribute to the shop's social media presence and community engagement.

What We Are Looking For:

Previous retail experience and a track record of meeting targets. Strong communication and organisational skills. A proactive, customer-focused approach. Empathy with the values and ethos of the SVP. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
