Job Description

Role Purpose:

The Assistant Site Manager is typically responsible for delivering the building element of a project or a designated section of a larger value project. This will include the overall supervision and performance of all operational build management/supervisors on the project/section to ensure that all build activities meet the programme, cost, health and safety and quality objectives of the Project Plan.

Project Delivery



Key Duties:



Prior to Works Starting on Site:

Make sure correct information is displayed in cabins, Health and Safety Policy, HSE Posters, F10, insurances, directions to nearest hospital, building control officer details. Copies of latest design information are on site. Risk assessment and methods statements to be reviewed prior to sub-contractor arriving on site. Suitable fire extinguishers/fire point. Accident & near miss report book to be updated within 24hrs of any incident. Project Manager to be informed of any incidents immediately
Daily:

First person on site; responsible for opening gates, setup safe systems of works prior to any works commencing. Site inductions, all personnel who arrive on site must be properly inducted. RAMS to be read and understood by site operatives prior to any works commencing. RAMS to be regularly updated as work progresses. RAMS to be site by each member of sub-contractor workforce prior to any works commencing. CCOSH assessments as required. Record site attendance via a site register. Site diary much be kept up to date, including but not limited to labour records, plant records, weather Report, materials/goods in. Managing and coordinating sub-contractors. Ordering materials/plant for sub-contractors in accordance with sub-contractors' order. Co-ordinating site visits with clients/sub-contractor/supplies etc. Capturing site progress via FieldView. Capturing sub-contractors snags via FieldView. Capturing sub-contractors quality assurance via FieldView. General site safety, including safe access and egress around, vehicle and pedestrian segregation. Safety briefings. Site to be made safe and secure at the end of each shift. Site security, first on site to open gates. Enforce OGL rules & protocol. Photograping delivery notes via Eque2. Photographing of all plant and materials that arrive or leave site.
Weekly:

Reporting progress against programme. Assisting with OGL labour requisition. General site cleanliness inc. Skip exchange, waste segregation, welfare facilities and amenities (coffee, cups, toilet rolls etc). Regular toolbox talks as required. Plant inspection records.
Monthly:

Assist commercial lead with client progress report.

People Management



Effectively manage supply chain performance on project/section by ensuring they have clear roles and responsibilities. Set and monitor targets and standards. Always talk to people in a calm and respectable manner

Continuous Improvement



Undertake company projects as required and maintain at all times up-to-date knowledge on changes and developments relevant to the role. Share best practice and promote continuous improvement and innovation. Ensure compliance and adherence with all Company policies, procedures, processes and tools applicable to role.

Training & Certification



A degree in an appropriate discipline or a Postgraduate Diploma. Minimum of an HNC or equivalent vocational experience. Corporate membership of a professional body is desirable. SMSTS CSCS Card Temporary Works Awareness First Aid Certificate Field View Training (desirable but not required) Eque2 Training (desirable but not required)

Salary negotiable dependent on experience
