Bagelman have been baking and serving fresh bagels in the Brighton area for almost 30 years. We have three stores located within Brighton & Hove, and are looking for someone to join our team as an Assistant Store Manager.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of one of our stores, ensuring excellent customer experience and efficient operations at all times.
Duties
- Lead and work in our Hove store 5 days per week (weekdays will be solo run after training during quieter periods)
- Serving customers, filling bagels, making hot drinks and cleaning
- Completion of any food preparation tasks
- Maintain and develop high standards of customer service
- Maintain high standards of product consistency as per the specification by management
- Ensure the shop and prep standards are maintained at all times
- Handle administrative tasks such as supplier orders, stock take, and company files
- Cashing up and ensuring the safe storage of cash
Leadership
- Manage store staff and delegate tasks effectively
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team
- Monitor and guide team to maintain brand identity, up sell additional products where appropriate and engage with the customer in a positive manner
Requirements
- Proven experience in food retail management or a similar role, or looking to step into a managerial role for the first time
- Hands on experience in food retail / front of house food service
- High attention to detail
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Proficiency in administrative tasks related to store operations
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team
- Food safety knowledge preferable (training will be provided)
- Must be able to work 5 days per week Thursday to Monday (Tuesday and Wednesday off)
