Job Description

We are looking for an experienced full time Assistant Manager to join our team at our Wine Shop / Deli on Beech Road in Chorlton.

We are looking for hard working team players with excellent customer service skills, people who share our passion for food and drink and have the drive to help us push the business forward, bringing in new ideas, and enthusiasm for our products and service.

Role includes greeting and serving customers, merchandising, promoting the shop and its products, placing orders and sorting deliveries, stock rotation, key holder responsibilities (opening / closing the shop and cashing up).

Candidates must have previous retail experience, preferably within the food and drink industry, and must be flexible, and able to work any shift (normally 8 hour working shifts, but can be more flexible) between the hours of 6am - 9.30pm, including weekends.

Job Duties:

Greeting and serving customers Preparing and baking cookies, brownies, bread, pastries & savoury products Assisting customers with their purchases and providing product knowledge, with particular focus on wine, beers and spirits Product sampling Stock control and replenishment Placing Orders, Receiving deliveries and completing paperwork required Merchandising and Promoting the shop through Social Media General cleaning Responsible for Opening / Closing the shop and Cashing Up.

Qualifications/ Experience:

Previous retail experience essential, At least two years customer service experience Basic Food Hygiene Certificate desirable A real passion for excellent customer service An enthusiasm for retailing, ideally in the food and drink industry A keen interest in developing a career within the food retail sector Key holder/supervisory experience desirable Strong communication skills The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
