About The Team



Our Building consultancy team assist in all aspects of a building project, from the pre-planning stages through to completion. The scope of services extends to commercial building as well as acquisition surveys and full project management. We also help manage liability, minimise risk and streamline the management of a building, while looking for opportunities to lower costs, unlock value and drive long-term sustainable performance.


Programme Overview



Newmark's 2-year graduate real estate programme is the perfect way to kickstart your career in commercial real estate. You'll gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplined teams, work with senior professionals, and develop the skills and competencies needed to achieve your MRICS qualification through the 2-year cognate APC route.


Newmark also offer a 2.5. year graduate programme, designed for students to complete a RICS accredited MSc in Building Surveying with University of the Built Environment (UBE). This route is perfect if your undergraduate degree is not RICS accredited, but you want to fast track your career in commercial real estate to achieve MRICS qualification.


During the programme you will;


Gain hands on experience across Building Surveying, learning directly from industry experts while contributing to live projects. Rotate through Building Consultancy specialisms to gain a broad experience within Building Surveying Work on high profile client projects, helping to shape investment strategies and property decisions Develop professional competencies required for MRICS accreditation Receive mentorship and structured support from senior colleagues and our structured development programme Newmark sponsors your professional qualification to MRICS, enabling you to accelerate your career



Key Responsibilities



Conduct site visits to examine building conditions, structural integrity, and regulatory compliance Prepare and draft detailed reports, identifying defects, maintenance needs, and condition findings Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to help ensure seamless project execution Monitor project delivery, ensuring adherence to building regulations and quality standards Assist with risk assessments and health & safety compliance on site Provide project support, tracking progress and ensuring compliance with building regulations

About You



Studying a Batchelors or Masters degree in Building Surveying or related degree Demonstrate a passion for the Built Environment Strong interest in working towards membership with RICS (Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors)

Working Hours



The Firm's core hours are from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and you may choose to start and end your day around these hours, provided you still do your 7.25 hours per day (e.g. 8.00 am - 4.30pm, 10.00 am - 6.30 pm). This position also involves out of hours working on an 'as necessary' basis.
