A great opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and proactive Assistant to Senior Accounts to join our team. This is a varied, hands?on role supporting the smooth day?to?day running of our office, accounts functions, dispatch operations, and customer communications. The ideal candidate will be confident working across multiple tasks, maintaining accuracy, and supporting both the sales and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Office & Administrative Support
Assist with the daily running of office operations, dispatch coordination, and general administrative duties.
Handle incoming telephone calls professionally and support the sales team with customer enquiries and orders .
Carry out ad?hoc administrative tasks, including systems data entry and document management.
Liaise with Suppliers regarding deliveries and Queries
Accounts Duties
Sales Ledger: Raise and post sales invoices, issue customer statements, and manage cash postings.
Purchase Ledger: Match and post supplier invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and process supplier payments.
Credit Control: Chase overdue payments, maintain healthy cash flow, and manage customer account queries.
Petty Cash: Manage petty cash transactions and maintain accurate reconciliations.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile daily/weekly bank transactions and ensure accurate accounting records.
Month?End: Assist with month?end preparation, reconciliations, and reporting.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with ISO?related administrative tasks and compliance documentation.
Manage container clearance paperwork and costings.
Monitor online sales activity, stock levels, and assist with inventory ordering.
Requirements
Minimum of two years' experience in a similar accounts or administrative role.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience using Sage Line 50 is essential.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem?solving.
