Work base: Coed Pella / Hybrid


Conwy County Borough Council is looking for an Assistant Engineer to join its Traffic Team, which is responsible for traffic engineering and regulation, accident investigation, road safety engineering, education, training and publicity, planning and development control.


You will assist in assessing and advising on planning applications, investigating and responding to traffic and road safety related enquiries, developing local policies and designing, procuring and supervising the construction of small-medium highway and road safety improvements.


You should have a HNC in civil engineering or other relevant discipline, and experience in a traffic/transport related field. You should also have knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework in which the traffic and/or development control function operates and a good working knowledge of current relevant legislation, design standards and best practice solutions.


The role requires good project management and ICT (including CAD) skills and a good general standard of numeracy and literacy. Knowledge of procurement processes and an awareness of wider traffic and network management principles and methods is desirable.
