The Role
We're looking for an experienced and detail-focused
Assistant Training Manager - Compliance & Quality Assurance
to join our team. You'll play a key role in coordinating apprenticeship processes, maintaining ESFA compliance, and supporting audit and quality functions to help us grow and deliver outstanding training.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee learner and employer onboarding, enrolment, and apprenticeship compliance
Maintain accurate data entry across systems (PICS, Smart Assessor, BKSB)
Manage ILR submissions and internal quality assurance processes
Ensure adherence to ESFA funding rules and government regulations
Support internal and external audit preparation (planned and unannounced)
Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English (where needed)
Embed Safeguarding and Prevent principles into training delivery
Conduct progress reviews and liaise with employers to track learner outcomes
Support business development, marketing, and administrative projects
Maintain internal records, trackers, and operational planning tools
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Background in education/training with strong understanding of ESFA compliance
Proficient in ILR, funding rules, and training management systems
Functional Skills teaching experience (Maths/English)
Excellent administrative and communication skills
Able to work independently and meet multiple deadlines
Competent in Microsoft Office and learner platforms (e.g. Smart Assessor, PICS)
Desirable:
Experience supporting audits or inspections (ESFA, OFSTED)
Knowledge of safeguarding and learner welfare procedures
Qualifications
GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths
Relevant professional qualification in MIS, admin, or compliance
Ongoing CPD in ESFA regulations or apprenticeship delivery preferred
Additional Requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Occasional travel to training centres
Flexibility for occasional evening/weekend work (rare)
