The Role







To assist in the underwriting of risks and in supporting the respective underwriting team in accordance with the business plan and within delegated underwriting authority limits

Key Accountabilities






Contributes to the preparation and implementation of the teams plans to ensure these include operational considerations for delivery Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives. Undertakes a range of duties, and completes standard transactions, with relative autonomy (following laid down procedures) to ensure that operational processes and/or individual transactions are appropriately executed and that files, documentation and related systems are properly maintained Records and monitors relevant information to ensure accuracy, good practice and adherence to prescribed standards Ensures own awareness of organisation goals and regulatory/legislative requirements is current and relevant; and is proactive in reviewing, analysing and providing feedback in order to help maintain compliance and effectiveness of processes while minimising risk



Knowledge, Skills, & Experience






Basic understanding of the insurance market Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good organisational skills. Able to work independently. Proficient in MS Office applications effectively e.g. Excel and other departmental software packages. Able to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines. Able to plan effectively and efficiently. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Strong attention to detail. Has relevant experience of working in an underwriting environment within a specialised/complex underwriting area. - Not essential GCSE's qualifications to an appropriate grade It is desirable that the individual is either studying their ACII or has a strong willing to do so
