Assistant Wedding Coordinator

Job Description

Assistant Wedding Coordinator

Firle Place, East Sussex

Part time role. 25 hours per week. 30,000 per year pro rata.

WHY WORK AT FIRLE PLACE

Firle Place is a historic country estate set within the South Downs, known for delivering high quality weddings, events, and hospitality experiences.

The estate is in an active period of development, including the growth of its accommodation and hospitality offering, creating a varied and interesting working environment alongside the core wedding programme.

You will be part of a professional and collaborative team delivering weddings in a unique setting, with the opportunity to be closely involved in live events rather than working in a purely desk based role. This role suits someone who enjoys pace, variety, and being present on site as part of event delivery.

AT A GLANCE

Part time contract of 25 hours per week Salary 30,000 per year pro rata with discretionary performance related bonus and pension scheme Commercial role supporting wedding sales and delivery

Active, on site role within a large country estate

Full UK driving licence and own transport essential due to rural location and working hours

Flexible hours aligned to weddings and events

Regular weekend working during peak season

Ideal start date 23 March 2025, with earlier start considered by agreement

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a commercially minded Assistant Wedding Coordinator to support both the sales performance and delivery of weddings at Firle Place.

Previous experience working specifically in weddings is not essential, as training and support will be provided. However, this is a fast paced and active role, and candidates must bring relevant experience from hospitality, functions, events, or customer facing sales environments, along with a strong willingness to learn and develop within a live event setting.

This is a hands on and active role, combining desk based coordination with significant time spent on site across the estate during weddings and events. The role involves moving regularly between venues, meeting suppliers, supporting set up and delivery, and being visible and present throughout the day.

Due to the rural location of the estate and the nature of the working hours, a full UK driving licence and access to own transport are essential for this role.

On selected dates, you will act as the lead on the day coordinator, taking ownership of delivery, decision making, and problem solving in real time within a busy live event environment.

HOURS AND WORKING PATTERN

This role is contracted at 25 hours per week, with flexibility built in around the weddings and events calendar. Hours will increase during peak season and reduce during quieter months.

The role includes planned flexibility to provide cover for annual leave within the weddings and events team on a rota basis.

Working hours include regular weekends and occasional extended days during peak periods, with a mix of administrative time and active on site delivery.

SALARY AND START DATE

30,000 per year pro rata, based on a 25 hour per week contract. A discretionary performance related bonus is available based on contribution and performance. Pension scheme with employer contribution of 6% when employees contribution is 3%+

The ideal start date is 23 March 2025, however an earlier start date may be agreed for the right candidate.
