We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join the Banking & Finance team in our Belfast office. We are keen to meet qualified lawyers with experience in banking and/or other commercial transactions.




This is a strategic role for an experienced solicitor who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment. You will lead teams, shape service delivery, and work closely with partners and senior stakeholders across our global network. You'll be instrumental in driving quality, innovation, and efficiency in the delivery of legal services.

What you will do





In this role you will work with a growing team of Legal Professionals and with offices across the global network on client matters supporting multiple practice groups. You will have a high level of interaction with their counterparts in other offices to enable you and your colleagues to operate as fully integrated members of matter teams. In the early stages of engagement this will include scoping and planning work and monitoring capacity. In this role you will also be expected to work independently, lead a team and be the first line of support for Legal Professionals.




Key responsibilities:

Provide legal expertise, including:

+ drafting, reviewing, and negotiating finance documents;
+ transaction management;
+ legal research; and
+ maintaining and improving templates and precedents.
Work closely with partners, clients and instructing teams to scope instructions and deliver high-quality legal services. Establish and maintain the highest standards for quality, efficiency, and service. Identify and develop innovative service lines supporting practice groups and clients of strategic importance. Supervision and training of junior team members. Participate in business development; to include client pitches and delivery of team business plan.


What you will have



Qualified solicitor, barrister or Fellow of CILEX; 2 years' post-qualification experience upward (or equivalent).*
Strong technical knowledge of banking and/or other commercial transactions.*
Intellectual curiosity and versatility.*
Self-starter with the desire and ability to continuously acquire, build upon and share knowledge.*
Strong commercial/business acumen with the ability to deliver creative and pragmatic solutions .*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - a team player with the ability build strong relationships with. colleagues and stakeholders, both internal and external.*
Consistently demonstrate a professional manner with evidence of exceptional levels of judgement, commercial awareness, and critical thinking.*
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.*
Detail-focused and self-motivated approach.*
Must show evidence of a high level of personal resilience coupled with an ambition to continuously challenge oneself.*
Demonstrate affinity with legal technology.*
