If you would like to help shape the future of education and training - join the Lincoln College Board of Corporation
This is your opportunity to give something back and gain invaluable professional development.
Use your experience and expertise to guide strategic decision making at Lincoln College Group.
Lincoln College is a 138 year old institution whose core purpose is to "Be Ready" for employment and life - shaping its curriculum to meet the needs of local businesses.
Lincoln and Newark Colleges, together with the Air and Space Institute (ASI), use additional international and commercial income to invest in the very best industry experts and equipment.
The College also operates a number of companies; including restaurants, an arts and entertainment venue and a hair and beauty salon, operating as finishing schools to help students get work-ready.
Lincoln College Group is a large General Further Education College that has over 12,000 students and employs around 1,000 staff with an annual turnover of over 50m. The College is the largest exporter of vocational education internationally from the UK. This is a fast moving, exciting, yet challenging, business to work with.
We're looking for dynamic and progressive thinkers, with a proven track record of success, to help shape the future of one the most dynamic college groups in the UK.
The opportunity...
Lincoln College is looking for Associate Board members, to expand the level of expertise in a number of areas. As an Associate Board member you will join at least one of the College's sub-committees linked to your experience and/or expertise. You would normally undertake this role for at least a year. When existing Board members step down at the end of their term of office there will be opportunities to join the full Board of Corporation of which there is a greater time commitment. Some Associate members may wish to remain as Associates.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for dynamic and progressive individuals to join an independent Board and give back to the communities we serve here in the UK and abroad.
At the same time the development opportunities available from exposure to a complex, multinational business are immense and will challenge the knowledge, skills and experience of the vast majority of applicants.

Typically, the Board membership is formed by those located across Lincolnshire. We are also keen to hear from those from Nottinghamshire or from further afield. If you are new to governance then this link may give you some insight into what it entails to be a board member in the FE Sector.
Most meetings take place in the late afternoon/early evening during term time but we also ask that members take the opportunity to pay visits to the College and attend certain events which may be during the day. Associate Members will be assigned a specific Committee and attendance amounts to three to five meetings a year with the option to attend whole Corporation Training Days. Associate Members may then have the opportunity to become full Independent Board Members. Board members are not remunerated but may claim expenses.
An informal evening to meet with existing Governors will be held on Tuesday 6 January 2026 commencing at 4.30pm at Lincoln College. If successful in being appointed, training will be undertaken on the evening of Tuesday 10 February commencing at 4pm at Lincoln College.
