About the Role
Pharmaron is currently recruiting for an Associate Chemist to join our Cardiff site. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the overall output of the department through the application of technical knowledge, expertise and skills in operations and manufacturing of labelled compounds.
This is a great opportunity for a recent Chemistry graduate to join an experienced and supportive team. You will gain hands on experience in the preparation and purification of chemical products and improve your knowledge of organic synthesis.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and purify chemical products ([14C Intermediates) and to achieve at least the established yield, specifications, and working time, with a high level of reliability.
Carry out product purification and co-ordination of purification work in the manufacture of labelled compounds.
Complete all work efficiently and tidily within specified time scale, taking responsibility for allocated work with overall control from their Team Leader.
Maintain accurate records of all work carried out.
Ensure that waste is processed, recorded, and transferred according to documented procedures.
Assist with the general running of the Teams and the Chemistry group, by maintaining a good standard of laboratory housekeeping and help with routine tasks.
Candidate Profile
BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a relevant life sciences field
Experience of organic synthesis
Good written and verbal communication skills, computer literate
Process COSHH awareness
Practical competence
Conscientious and meticulous in laboratory and written work
Good time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
Commitment to self-development and learning
Ability to work as part of a team and also independently
